Harold James “Jim” Hanlon

HAROLD JAMES “JIM” HANLON, 73, of Weirton, WV died on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born June 17, 1949, in Follansbee, WV a son of the late Floyd James and Eleanor “Elsie” (Haught) Hanlon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Chuck” Hanlon and two sisters, Cora Vanmeter and Laurel Lee Hanlon. Jim graduated from Follansbee High School in 1968. He retired after 30 years from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked as a millwright. Jim was a member of the Hooverson Heights Nazarene Church. In his spare time he enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with friends and going camping with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ila Sue (Hooker) Hanlon at home; two devoted daughters, Christine (Carl) DiGiacinto and Debra (Greg) Wise, both of Follansbee, WV; two sisters, Ethel Stevens of Brilliant, OH and Norma Hanlon of Kentucky; five grandchildren: Lauren, Preston (Kyleigh), and Tyler Wise, and Carley and Carl DiGiacinto, II; one great grandson, Wetzel Lee Wise; his uncle, Michael Haught of Marietta, OH; many nieces and nephews and his furry friend, Callie. Visitation was held on Monday, November 28, 2022 until the time of funeral services, at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Pastor Bill Helsel officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee
