John Robert Deneen

JOHN ROBERT DENEEN, 84. of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on December 18, 1937, in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Harry Victor and Helen A. (Timasko) Deneen. In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by an infant son, John Robert, Jr; five brothers, Albert, Richard, Paul, Jarvis, and Danny Deneen; and three sisters, Phyllis Deneen, Elizabeth Thompson, and Nora Neff. John worked for one year as a meat carver at Western Sizlin’ in Steubenville, OH and later worked and retired from Crescent Glass. He was a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union and Hooverson Heights Nazarene Church. In his spare time John loved to bowl with his friends. John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy (Hazlett) Deneen at home; one son, Stephen (Bonita) Deneen of Newton Falls, OH; two granddaughters, Brianna (Jacob) Kritz and Alyson Deneen; four great grandchildren, Lillian, Lucas, Noelia, and Jaxton; three sisters, Rosemary (George) Mazezka of Follansbee, WV; Helen Cheripko of Cross Creek, WV; Dorothy (Richard) Suddoth of Follansbee, WV; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for John was held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 and again on Monday, December 5, 2022 until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Bill Helsel officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
