Walter “Uncle Shorty” J. Zadzilko

WALTER “UNCLE SHORTY” J. ZADZILKO, 88, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital, Weirton. Walter was born on February 20, 1934 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Popko) Zadzilko. Walter served proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. Many will remember Walter for his love of playing pool and bowling; but most of all, raising his grandson, Devin. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Yachini) Zadsilko, a daughter, Lynn Briggs and numerous brothers and sisters. Walter is survived by his grandson, Devin Knight of Follansbee, WV and two sisters, Mildred Surgenor of Steubenville, OH and Mary Marracino of Gilbert, AZ. The James Funeral Home of Follansbee was honored and privileged to serve the Zadzilko family with a private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee.
