James Andrew Danek

JAMES ANDREW DANEK, 79, of Weirton, WV passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA from complications related to a recent injury. He was born February 7, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA to Stephen and Helen Goleski Danek. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Steve Danek and John Danek, as well as Patricia Budash, the mother of his children. Jim was a 1963 graduate of Burgettstown Union High School. He retired from Weirton Steel Corp. after 30 years where he was an operator on the #3 line in the sheet mill. Jim enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved to read his extensive collection of fantasy novels and doing crossword puzzles. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Kuhns Danek; six children, Mary Kay Bendick, David Danek, Tricia Crowley, Dawn Allen, Jeanne Pellegrino (Richard), Doug Allen; fourteen grandchildren, Timothy Bendick (Abby), Charles Bendick (Kortney), Chris Bendick, Katie Bendick (Mark), Zak Crowley, Caleb Crowley (Ella), Jade Danek, Logan Danek (Eleanor), Conner McCoy, Patrick McCoy, Bryce Allen, Nicole Pellegrino, Michael Pellegrino, Tyler Jane Allen; one great grandchild, Adrian Marcus; brother, Larry Danek; sister, Mary Cappogrecco (James). Visitation was held on Monday January 2, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton, where the funeral was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with Reverend William Stout presiding.
