CATHERINE “CATHY” DITTY CIPOLETTI, 81, passed away peacefully at UPMC Shadyside on January 17, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Until mid-December, she was doing the work she loved so very much, serving others through volunteering at Meals on Wheels and the Lighthouse Foundation and visiting patients in the hospital. Cathy was born on August 13, 1941 to J. Robert and Catherine Ditty. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1959 and married her high school sweetheart and one true love, Chuck Cipoletti, three months later. She loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also assisted in the family business, an Esso/Exxon service station for many years. Her home was always open to anyone needing a sweet snack or a sympathetic ear. For many years, Chuck and Cathy’s home in Wellsburg was the site of many celebrations, card games and good times. She was an amazing hostess. Cathy was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and lived her life loving and serving people. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chuck Cipoletti; parents, J. Robert and Catherine Ditty; and brother Jack Ditty. She is survived by her son, Bryan (Cindy) Cipoletti of Butler, PA and daughter Bonnie (Ernie) Anderson of Morgantown, WV; her grandchildren Maxwell (Nancy) Anderson, Abigail (Tyler) Hostetler, Chas Cipoletti, Lauren (Preston) Snyder and Jacob Cafaro (Catherine Lyons); and five great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Leo Anderson and Zoe, Bella and Cade Hostetler.
