Glenna M. “Toot” Horstman

GLENNA M. “TOOT” HORSTMAN, 85, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday January 20, 2023 at Weirton Medical Center. She was born February 27, 1937 in Paden City, WV, daughter of the late Everett and Clara Eastham Harris. She is also preceded in death by sister, Elaine Mason; and brothers, Bill, Bud and Jake Harris. Toot was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. After graduating from Weir High School in 1955, Toot worked as a nurse aide in Weirton General Hospital and 20 years as an office manager for Dr. Alan Schachter. Toot was great softball player and bowler. She was a big sports fan, specifically a Bill Mazeroski fan. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Egypt and Spain. She loved making crafts, cooking for everyone, and woodworking, especially refinishing antique furniture. She was a member of many card clubs and enjoyed attending all of her grandkids’ ball games. Toot was a great wife to her loving husband of 64 years, William “Bill” Horstman. She is also survived by daughter, Janna Watson of FL; sons, Jim Horstman (Cathy) of Weirton and Thomas Horstman of Wintersville; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Jack and Fred Harris; sisters, Jody Coyne, Andi Coyne and Donna Tokash; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton, where the funeral was held Wednesday, January 25, 2023, with Pastor Carol McKay presiding. Interment followed at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
