Mona Faye Hayes Walden

MONA FAYE HAYES WALDEN, 80, of Route 88, Belvedere Farm, Wellsburg, WV passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Golden Oaks, Follansbee, WV with her family by her side. She was born at home on February 13, 1942, in Wellsburg, WV a daughter of the late Virgil and Adrian Wilson Hayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Earl Walden. They were married on April 4, 1959, in Virginia. Calvin passed away on February 16, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers Bernard Hayes, Melvin Hayes, and two sisters Helen Postlewaite, and Betty Bowers. Mona Faye was a very talented homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and providing for her five children, Darlene Gilchrist, Janette Henthorn, Calvin “Jeff” Walden and his companion Cynthia Kutcher, Michele (Chuck) Scott all of Wellsburg, WV, and Lisa (Tom) McCoy of Massillon, OH.; her seven grandchildren: Jonathan Gilchrist, Calvin “Brian”, Jeffrey, and Chelsea Walden, Tommy, Skylar, and Brock McCoy; four great-grandchildren: Amelia and Eva Walden, Oaklynn Gilchrist, and Melody Walden. She is also survived by her brothers, David Hayes and Mahlon “Buddy” Hayes of Wellsburg, WV; sisters: Florence Carpico of Morristown, OH and Donna (Bernie) Miller of Wellsburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren whom she adored. The Family wants to thank all the first responders and caregivers for the wonderful Love and Care they showed Mona during her final journey. Friends and family were received Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, and again Wednesday, January 25, 2023, until the time of the service at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Seabright officiating.
