STELLA MARIE (TISIK) VILGA, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on February 18, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton. Stella was born July 1, 1932 to Jacob and Mary Schubenski Tisik in Louise, WV where she remained a lifelong resident until the time of her passing. Stella is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Vilga Sr. (2005), a son Paul Andrew Vilga Jr. (2000), grandson Daniel Eli Vilga (2013), a great granddaughter Andrea Grace Vilga (2010), sisters Mary Olexia, Katherine Holmes, Julia Tisik, Margaret Kuchinski, Ann Stasky, Helen Aftanas, and brothers George Tisik and Mike Tisik. Stella will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Agnes Flasko of Wellsburg, WV; a daughter, Roxanne Butto (Patsy) of Canonsburg, PA; son, Mike Vilga of Wellsburg, WV; grandchildren Maranda Ball, Kristin Widenhofer, Paul Vilga III, John Vilga, and Lindsay Potts; 20 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Stella attended Scotts Run Elementary School and was a graduate of Follansbee, High School in 1951. She worked as a telephone operator for many years. After marriage she dedicated her life to making a wonderful home and lovingly raising her children, a task she did up until the time of her calling home to the Lord. Stella enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She often attended their activities and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Stella loved life and remained active and independent. She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers, and shopping sprees with her nieces Bonnie and Susie. Stella was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Follansbee. The family would like to thank the dedicated Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Weirton Medical Center for the excellent care she received. Services to celebrate her life were held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. At Liturgy of the Word Service was held Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the funeral home with Fr. Jude Perra Celebrant. Interment followed at St John Haven of Rest Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
