Richard Lee Williams

RICHARD LEE WILLIAMS, 69, of Follansbee, WV, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH. Richard was born on November 8, 1953 in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Boyuk) Williams. Richard retired with over 40 years of service at Weirton Steel Corporation in the laborer gang, buggy track and the bundling lines. He was a member of the Follansbee Church of the Nazarene. Many will remember Richard for his dedication to his grandchildren and their sports and being an avid Brooke Fan. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his two siblings, Patricia Huffman and Charles J. Williams. Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen (Godwin) Williams; three children: Tiffany Helsel and her husband, Pastor William, Megan Shaw and her fiancé, Jeremy Sizemore and Tyler Williams and his wife, Amanda, all of Follansbee, WV; eight grandchildren: Brielee, Ethan, Emma, Kyndree, Blaze, Teagan, Remanee and Misha; a sister, Barbara “Barbie” Kuzmich of Margate, FL; a sister-in-law, Barbara Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private viewing and service was held at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, with his pastor, Larry Barkley and his son-in-law, Pastor William Helsel, officiating.
