Helen Lou Carpenter

HELEN LOU CARPENTER, 77, of Weirton, WV and formerly of Newell and St. Marys, WV passed away on March 17, 2023 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Myers. She was the widow of Gary Lee Carpenter who passed on November 28, 2008. Helen is survived by her children Jill (Martin) Swan of New Cumberland, WV, Kelly (Julie) Carpenter of Lampasas, TX, and Shannon (Greg) Rhoades of Weirton, WV. She is survived by seven grandsons: Tyler Swan, Dakota Swan, Cody (Jordan) Carpenter, Caleb (Samantha) Carpenter, Austin (Mynx) Carpenter, Brendon Carpenter, and Dalton Rhoades. She is also survived by six siblings: Carol (Clark) Vaughan, Mike (Michelle) Myers, Tim (Sherry) Myers, Sharon (Chuck) Anderson, Linda (Jack) Joy, and Patty Moore, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Helen was married to Gary for 45 years and took care of him until his death in 2008. She was a homemaker her entire life. She has lived with her daughter Shannon and her family for the last 13 years. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, cats, and coffee. But most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren (and the great-grandchildren on the way). A memorial service was held Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV.
