Richard Melto

RICHARD MELTO, 85, a lifelong resident of the Weirton community, passed away on March 21, 2023. He was born on January 30, 1938, to Joseph Melto, Sr. and Lena Muzi Melto. Richard graduated from Weir High School, served his country with the United States Air Force, and provided for his family by working in the Tin Mill of Weirton Steel. He loved nothing more than tinkering with cars. He was particularly fond of his 1976 Camaro and his 1980 Rally Sport. Richard’s passion for cars was matched only by his love for his family. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Deluca, and his brother, Louis Melto. He is survived by his son, Richard Joseph Melto, and his wife, Jane; his daughters, Lisa Melto and Debbie Davis, and his brother, Joseph Melto. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Richard was laid to rest next to his sister at Saint Paul’s Cemetery. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.co
