Scott Alan McClain

SCOTT ALAN MCCLAIN, 62, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Scott was born on January 5, 1961, in Weirton, WV to Juanita (Baker) and Ronald McClain. Scott was born with arthrogryposis but was always a fighter. He walked when doctors said he wouldn’t and showed everyone around him what determination and hard work looked like. In 1988, Scott married the love of his life, Jenny Hargreaves. They had two children, Molly and Ian. Scott was a loving husband and dedicated father who taught his children to be strong, independent, and compassionate. Scott loved the outdoors and his children have fond memories walking in the woods and swimming in the ocean with him. Scott worked for 20 years as a respiratory therapist in the Pittsburgh area and loved his job. When he retired he spent time with his family and eventually his grandchildren. Scott was preceded in death by his uncle John Hayes, aunt Betty Hayes, father William Ronald (Mac) McClain, various aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Ginny Jackson; brother, Ronald McClain and sister-in-law Tammy McClain; beloved wife, Jenny McClain (Hargreaves); daughter, Molly Cribbs (McClain) and son-in-law, Christopher Cribbs; son, Ian McClain and his fiancé Mady Malone; and grandsons Lennox, Logan, and Atticus. Visitation for Scott was held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, until the time of the funeral service, with Terry Blake officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Inurnment was held privately.
