Wallace Theodore “Ted” Strickler

WALLACE THEODORE “TED” STRICKLER, 73, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at home with his brother by his side. Ted was born on September 4, 1949, in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Mary June (Roberts) Strickler. In addition to his mom, he is preceded in death by his sister, Wendy Koon; and a brother, William “Hector” Strickler. Ted graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1968. Ted proudly served his country for over 12 years having served during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Army. He also served in Thailand, Korea, Alaska, and Hawaii. He was Christian by faith and worked for the United States Postal Service at the Wheeling processing center. Ted was an avid mountaineer fan. Ted is survived by one brother, Albert Strickler of Wellsburg, WV; two nieces, Katrina (William) Smith of Westover, WV and Kristie (Stephen) DeVault of Seven Fields, PA; a nephew, Kevin Koon and his girlfriend Laura Haas of Westover, WV; five great nephews and four great nieces; five great great nephews; one great-great niece; and several cousins. Visitation for Ted was held on Monday, April 10, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor James Sabin officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed at Franklin Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted by the US Army and Ohio Valley Veteran Memorial Squad. Condolences may be sent to www.mullenbachfh.com.
