Cloak and Dagger Goes Down the Rabbit Hole in Saturday Matinee

The Ohio Valley Cloak and Dagger Company continues its sixth season of Cloak & Dagger On the Air at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, at Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau with Cloak and Dagger On the Air presents Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
This brand-new adaptation by Cloak and Dagger On the Air creator and executive producer Pete Fernbaugh of Lewis Carroll’s 1865 classic novel will feature a fresh take on beloved characters often seen in other media and will introduce to the Cloak & Dagger stage Kami Martin, a young up-and-coming performer, in the role of Alice, along with the return of the show’s pre-pandemic in-house composer and accompanist Lakin Weaver.
“Generations have enjoyed and attempted to imitate Lewis Carroll’s unique brand of stuff and nonsense, but he is inimitable,” Fernbaugh said. “Kami Martin as the curious, but feisty Alice will win the hearts of audience members, young and old alike. And because it’s a radio drama, we’re not limited by the constraints of film or stage or budget. As Carroll would have wanted it, anything is possible in this production.”
Admission is free, although donations to help cover production costs are always appreciated. Light refreshments and water will be available.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with live music by R.J. Gaudio, Troubadour, who will perform pop, rock, and folk music favorites. The program will also livestream from The Ohio Valley Cloak and Dagger Company Facebook page starting at 3:30 p.m.
Also in the cast: Rob DeSantis, Bethany Fernbaugh, Pete Fernbaugh, David Gaudio, Noah Hilton, Karissa Martin, Malachi McClendon, Nathaniel McClendon, Jalen Mccrary, Clare McDonald, Ralph Parissi, and Micah Underwood, with sound effects by the Holy Foley Molies.
“We’re excited to perform Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and to present the unique talents of our multi-generational cast to both the in-person and online audiences,” Fernbaugh said. “Carroll’s scenes are hilarious, his wordplay magnificent, and his characterizations inventive.”
Top of WV CVB is located at 3539 Main Street in Weirton. Ample parking is available behind the building, where there is also an entrance. Individuals with mobility impairments may more easily enter through the building’s front entrance.
