DOROTHY L. FRISCO, 95, passed away on April 16, 2023, at Trinity Medical Center West/Valley Hospice. Dorothy was born November 29, 1927, to the late Mark M. and MaryJane Genevieve (Coleman) Gamble. Dorothy lived most of her life in McKinleyville, WV, a short period in Colliers, WV and until her death a resident at the Country Club Manor, Steubenville, OH. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John J., Sr., whom she married September 13, 1947; son, John J. Jr.; brother, William and wife Sophie Gamble; sister, Evelyn and husband Jim Frisco; sister, Olive and husband Bob Wilson; and sister-in-law Josephine and husband John Iwanyszyn. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Mark (Arlene) Gamble of Wintersville, OH; three children: Rhonda (Jim) Vitter of Brilliant, OH, Mark (Sheri) Frisco of Genoa, OH and Tammy (John) Campbell of Steubenville, OH; daughter-in-law Joanie Frisco of Richwood, OH; Ten grandchildren: Bryan (Lynne) Frisco, Mike Frisco, Jeremy (Brigit) Frisco, Justin (Blair) Frisco, Leslie (Trent) Duke, Jaime (JR Brink) Wineman, Jimmy (Dawn) Wood, Tanya (Joey) Frisco, Bryan(Lindsay) Frisco, and Gene Wells; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Dorothy was exceptionally close to her niece and husband Jane and Bill Cross, their sons Bill & Nick and their families. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the McKinleyville Church of Christ and a member of the former VFW Post 4496 Lady’s Axillary. She enjoyed time with family and friends, cooking, baking, reading her bible and attending church services and functions. Dorothy was the happiest when helping others. The family would like to extend a special thank Yyou to the staff of the Country Club Manor for the love and care they gave Dorothy for the past 5 ½ years and the Second Floor North Nursing Staff at Trinity West for the exceptional care, compassion and thoughtfulness they showed toward our Mom and Family. Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, and Thursday, April 20, 2023 until the time of the service, with Minister Larry Lemasters officiating. Internment followed at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Valley Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
