Gloria Mae (Perkinson) Paesani

GLORIA MAE (PERKINSON) PAESANI, 89, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Valley Hospice North in Steubenville, OH. Born on October 8, 1933, in Petersburg, VA a daughter of the late William Perkinson and Helen (Jessup) Perkinson Archer. In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her son, Michael Paesani, her grandson, Christopher Paesani, and four brothers, William Perkinson, Jr., Charles Perkinson, Joseph Perkinson, and Percy Archer, Jr. After High School, Gloria worked as a Dietician at Dr. Spork’s Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat, Hospital in Wellsburg, WV for many years. During her retirement she enjoyed cooking and helping out at the family owned Mid City Café in Follansbee, WV. She held memberships in St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Theta Chi Alpha Sorority, and she was past president of the Blue Wave and Brooke Football Mother’s. Gloria has been married to Silvio Gabriel Paesani for 73 years, having married on November 18, 1949; one son, Richard Paesani of Follansbee, WV; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Tony, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Mike, and Sylvia and Richard, and five great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, from 4-7 p.m., at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. A vigil service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral Home. A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, with the Rev. Fr. Jude Perera as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee.
