Senior Center Quarter Auction

Brooke County Senior Center will stage a quarter auction Sunday, May 7.
Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. in the Wellsburg Banquet Hall, 1121 Yankee St., Wellsburg. The auction will start at 1:30 p.m.
The $5 entry fee includes one paddle, and each additional paddle will cost $1.
Players should take quarters to bid, or quarters will be available to purchase at the door.
Say the guest has three paddles numbered 1, 2, and 3.
The announcer shows a cooler full of picnic items valued at $50 and says this is a 2-quarter bid.
The guest decides to bid with paddles 1 and 2 only. He puts four quarters in the bin on the table (two quarters for each paddle). All the quarters are collected from the tables.
The announcer starts calling numbers from all the paddles that were purchased.
The first number called is 3 which did not bid so they say, “No Bid.”
The next number called is paddle 1. The guest screams, “That Is Me” and wins a $50 item for four quarters.
There will be two rounds of auction with a break in the middle.
The organization gets all the vendor table fees, food sales, entry fee, extra paddle sales, 50-50 tickets, any other raffle it des and quarters for items donated to the organization, including one item from every vendor.
