Raymond Roy “Ray” Henry

RAYMOND ROY “RAY” HENRY, 74, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Wheeling Hospital due to complications with a rare disease he had. Raymond was born on August 30, 1948, in Wheeling, WV a son of the late William R. and Lillian M. (Atwell) Henry, Sr. In addition to his parents Ray is preceded in death by his five brothers; William Jr, James, Donald, John and Charles Henry; two sisters, Norma (Henry) Koren and Marge (Henry) Smith; two infant sisters; three sisters in law, Delores (Beao), Shirley and June Henry and one brother-in-law, Richard Koren. Three fur babies, King, Chubby, and his baby girl Tabby. Ray worked 30 years at West Liberty State College until he retired in 2013. He enjoyed playing pool, spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching westerns and WWE. He was a member of the McKinleyville Church of Christ. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years and love of his life, Bonnie Henry; two children, Tina (Dave) Sword of Kingsland, GA, Perry (Becca) Henry of Oldsfield, WV; three grandchildren, David (Cassie) Sword of Orlando, FL, Elizabeth (Rusty) Donovan of Petersburg, WV, and Ray Henry of Oldsfield, WV; two step grandchildren; five brothers, Richard (Judy) Henry of Wellsburg, WV, Thomas (Carmen) Henry of Arlington, VA, Ronald (Cindy) Henry of Wellsburg, WV, Joe Henry of Wellsburg, WV, Kenny (Donna) Henry of Beech Bottom, WV; two sisters in law, Reva (Dicarli) Henry of Follansbee, WV, and Bernise Henry of Wellsburg, WV; several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Visitation for Ray was held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, with Minister Larry Lemasters officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
