BHP Season Opener

Brooke Hills Playhouse announces “Things My Mother Taught Me” by Katherine DiSavino will open its 52nd season and run May 26-28 and June 2-4. Municipal Mutual Insurance Company and Reasner Funeral Home are season sponsors.
This comedy from the author of “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” and “Nana Does Vegas” takes a generational look at relationships, and how sometimes parents are passing their best lessons on to their children without even meaning to. Funny and touching, this show will make you laugh out loud and fall in love all over again.
The plot involves Olivia and Gabe moving into their first apartment together. They’ve just packed up all of their belongings and driven halfway across the country to start a new life together in Chicago. Their moving day doesn’t go exactly as planned, though, and things become slightly more complicated when all of their parents show up to help. Can a two-bedroom apartment contain all of the love, laughs, worry, and wisdom that’s about to happen?
Director Diana Mendel from Wellsburg has high praise for her talented cast. “This is a show you don’t want to miss. These gifted actors will warm your heart in their comedic presentations and in their portrayal of the love that exists in families and their connections to one another.”
Playhouse newcomer Tamara Lehew from Steubenville plays Olivia and Gregory Gust from Follansbee takes on the role of Gabe.
Olivia’s parents, Karen and Carter, are played by Playhouse veterans Sheila Cavalette from Weirton and Dan Harry from Bethany.
Gabe’s parents, Lydia and Wyatt, are played by Connie Knollinger-Wendel from Glen Dale and Walt Warren from Wheeling.
