Ladies Day at the Courtyard to be Held

Come and enjoy shopping, lunch, and then express your artistic ability! The Top of West Virginia Arts Council (TWVAC)and Barn with Inn are hosting “Ladies Day at the Courtyard” on June 17th 2023. This special event will be held in the courtyard at the circa 1840 historic Sarah Miller House, located at 900 Main St., Wellsburg.
From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the event will be open to the public, at no charge, for the opportunity to shop for unique items from the following vendors. Graham Acres will be selling beeswax wraps, soaps, and balms from their farm. Jocilyn’s Chocolates plans to have gourmet apples, chocolate covered strawberries, turtles, and coconut clusters available for purchase. Johnnies Florist will set up a “build your own bouquet” station, while Michelle Mitchell offers massages and holistic wellness products. Leslie’s Creations will have handmade table runners, clutch purses, and wall hangings, and Simply Sue will showcase cards, journals, bookmarks, and more! While shopping, visitors will enjoy entertainment from Everett Metz, a TWVAC member. Everett is an accomplished guitarist, artist, carver, and storyteller.
Lunch will be served at the Sarah Miller House from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Visitors will have a unique dining experience when Chef Brian Magliochette rings a small bell get the attention of guests and present his culinary creations. After lunch, visitors are invited to tour the historic house and cottage.
At 2 p.m., visitors can express their artistic ability at a painting class held at Martha’s Gallery, located at 736 Charles St., Wellsburg, just one block from the Sarah Miller House. Retired art teacher Nancy Wright and TWVAC member Joyce Beatty will guide participants through the class with instruction suitable for all levels.
While all are invited to shop in the courtyard, seating is limited for the lunch and painting class. Reservations for lunch are $25 and the painting class is $30. Call the Top of West Virginia CVB at 304.797.7001 to reserve a spot no later than June 9.
