EDWARD “ED” LEE KIMBALL SR., 77, of Colliers, WV died peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at his brother Harold’s home in Friendly, WV. Ed was born on September 28, 1945, in St. Mary’s, WV, a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Dotson) Kimball. In addition to his parents Ed is preceded in death by his beloved wife Patsy Lou Kimball on November 5, 2017; one daughter, Kathy Temple; two brothers, Bobby Kimball, Larry Kimball; and one granddaughter, Giada. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Ed was Southern Baptist by faith and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and New Beginnings Baptist Church. Ed retired as a Cement finisher where he worked for Local 39. Ed is survived by four devoted children: Richie (Nikki) Bailey, Glinda Platt, Edward Kimball, Jr. all of Weirton, WV, and Melanie (Richard) Glover of Follansbee, WV; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; six brothers, Lawrence (Pat) Kimball of Colliers, WV, Harold (Edna) Kimball of Friendly, WV, Jack Kimball, Pete (Judy) Kimball, Tim (Alfraretta) Kimball, and Max Kimball all of St. Marys, WV; three sisters, Margaret (Gary) Matlock, Sarah (Virgil) both of St. Marys, WV, and Glenda (Ronnie) Boley of OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins Visitation for Edward was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 and again on Thursday, May 11, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Kurt Moser officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed at St. John Haven of Rest Cemetery, Colliers, WV. Full Military honors were conducted by the US Marines and Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
