JAMES MOUSADIS, 87, of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Jim was born in Weirton, WV on October 7, 1935,, one of four children born to John and Vasilia Siderakis Mousadis. He graduated from Weir High School and continued his education at the DeVry Institute in Chicago,IL, receiving a degree in electronics. He served his country with the United States Army, under General Norstead at the Supreme Headquarters for the Allied Powers in Europe, where he received a letter of commendation on highly classified work. Jim was a member of the “Miracle Crew” on a top secret assignment due to his expertise in electronics. On September 1, 1974, Jim married Effie Bouloubasis. In their 49 years of marriage they were blessed with two sons, and two grandsons. Jim provided for his family by working as an electronics repairman for Weirton Steel and by developing real estate and operating rental property for over 40 years. Jim was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. He will be remembered with love and admiration by his wife Effie; sons John Mousadis, and Jimmy (Kristi) Mousadis; grandsons, James and Alexander Mousadis, brother, Jack “Pete” (Toni) Mousadis: sisters, Mary Popovich, and Claudette Frangopoulos; and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Visitation was held Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. Additional visitation was held until the time of services Monday, May 15, 2023, at the All-Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton, with the Reverend Father Matthew Moore presiding. Interment followed in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. Military Honors were conducted by the West Virginia Army National Guard and the American Legion Post 10 Honor Squad.
