William Brent Riggs

WILLIAM BRENT RIGGS, 83, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. William was born on December 23, 1939, in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Brent and Frances (Bee) Riggs. In addition to his parents William is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Vucinovic. William graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1957 and went on to proudly serve his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After the military he worked and retired from Municipal Mutual Insurance Company where he worked as home inspector. William was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, Wellsburg Masonic Lodge #2 A.F. & A.M. for 50 years, and the Scottish Rite. William is survived by two daughters, Christine (Larry) O’Donnell of Clarksville, TN and Billi Riggs of Wellsburg, WV; five grandchildren, Luke O’Donnell, Abigale O’Donnell, Kailey Grace O’Donnell, Michaela Valero (Steven Stout), and Ragan Valero; and one great grandson Sawyer Robertson. Visitation for William will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Timothy Kelly officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and US Army.
