JOHN WILLIAM PANNETT, JR., 84, of Colliers, WV died peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center with his family by his side. John was born on March 31, 1939, in Baltimore, MD a son of the late John William and Ruth Eleanor (Marsh) Pannett, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret (Beatty) Pannett; one sister, Jeanne Rocchio; one daughter, Pam Hensley; and one son in law, Rick Merritt. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked and retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he was a crane operator and buggy driver in the strip steel department. John was a member of the 21-year club. He enjoyed many years of playing euchre and various card games and spending time in “the garage” with his Colliers boys. John is survived by six daughters: Beverly Davis and companion John Thompson of Colliers, WV, Linda (Gary) Truex of Follansbee, WV, Dawn (Chris) Tittle of Leetonia, OH, Christine Murdock of Warren, MI, Tammy Merritt of Colliers, WV, and Lori (Randy) Stewart of Colliers, WV; a twin brother, James Pannett of Colliers; a granddaughter who he raised as his own, Tracy (Keith) Peterson of Colliers; a son-in-law, Bill Hensley of Cambridge, OH; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for John was held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 and again on Monday, June 5, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Diane Loughrie officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed at St. John Haven of Rest Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted by the United States Navy and Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. Johns’ family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rahman, Dr. Saieed, the nurses and aides at WMC 6th floor for all their love and care with their father.
