Meredith “Murph” William Weatherhead

MEREDITH “MURPH” WILLIAM WEATHERHEAD, 70, of Steubenville, OH, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Country Club Manor, Steubenville, OH under the care of the staff with the assistance of Southern Care Hospice. Murph was born on June 23, 1952 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late John Harvey Weatherhead and Marion Amelia (Folio) Weatherhead. Murph retired from AEP as a meter reader working formerly as a prison guard in Moundsville, WV. Many will remember Murph for his active involvement in the American Legion, Follansbee, WV, NRA and the former Eagles in addition to always fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, Murph was preceded in death by his brother, John Weatherhead. Murph is survived by his companion and wife of 41 years, Kathleen Sutton and her two children, Jodie Lucas and her spouse, Jerry and Tracey Sutton, all of Steubenville, OH; three grandchildren: Ashley Lucas Santiago and her spouse, Deb, Jerry Lucas II and Brittany Rice; three great grandchildren: Milo and Archer Santiago Lucas and Mason Bailey; three siblings, David Walker, Mary Kessenich and Nora Kilpatrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Thursday, June 15, 2023 until the time of the funeral service. Following the service, Murph will be cremated.
