DOLPHUS BARNHART, 89, of Colliers, WV died peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 21, 1934 in Hempfield Township, PA a son of the late Henry Harrison and Eulene (Mercer) Barnhart. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Lena Dodd; a daughter, Cindy Caleffie; a son, Dolphus Jr.; grandson, Steven Caleffie; seven brothers; Henry Harrison Jr., Chester Owen Barnhart, Douglas Aaron Barnhart, Blair Ogden Barnhart, Duane Elliot Barnhart, Emery Dean Barnhart, and Dennis Peter Barnhart, and one sister, Iris Faye Danielson. He graduated from Burgettstown High School and went on to join the United States Airforce after which he was honorably discharged. Dolphus served as an Airman Policeman and Patrolman while in the service. After leaving the service he worked for Starvaggi Industries, was Christian by faith, an avid outdoorsman, collected antiques, loved to gamble and was lucky playing euchre, and a pretty good golfer. Dolphus is survived by a daughter, Faith (Larry) Spencer of Colliers, WV; a son, Paul (Kim) Barnhart of Gratriot, OH; grandsons Zachary Harden, Jonathon(Brianne) Pyles, and Zechariah(Stephanie) Spencer; granddaughters Angela (Curtis) Stevens, Adriane(David) Thompson, Cortni(Darren) Athey, Emalee and companion Michael, Kaylee(Josh) Newton, and Lydia Neil; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Demaris Dagan, Lois McPeek, and Marilyn Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee and again on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 until the time of the service, with Rev. Larry Garrison officiating. Interment took place at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens. Military Honors were conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and the United States Air Force.
