R. STEVE ROBERTS, 74, of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. He was born January 14, 1949, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Robert and Katherine J. Gilmore Roberts. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Roberts. Steve was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Steve was a graduate of Weir High School Class of 1967. After high school, Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud member of the Second Battalion 5th Marines Hotel Company. He was wounded in the Battle of Hue and was honorably discharged. Steve had been awarded numerous medals, including three Purple Hearts. He was also a graduate of the College of Steubenville. Steve retired from Weirton Steel Company/National Steel Division as an inside sales representative. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Pam Pinti Roberts; daughter, Vanessa Roberts-Beaver (Joey L. Beaver); brother, Timothy Roberts; grandchildren, Courtney Posey, Josey Tassey (Michael), Joey Beaver (Beth); great grandchildren, Crue and Caden Tassey, Priscilla Beaver and Hadley Tiger; honorary grandson, Sebastian Bennett (Kailey); sister-in-law, Diana Rosnick (Rudy); nieces Rachel and Jocelyn. There was no visitation or service. Inurnment with full military honors were rendered at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Sadly, Steve leaves behind his special lifelong friends.
