Delbert William Rushing, Jr.

DELBERT WILLIAM RUSHING, JR., 69, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 16, 1953, in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Delbert and Bess (Roberts) Rushing, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Brozstek. Delbert graduated from Steubenville High School in 1972 and you could always see him in his Big Red Shirts saying, “roll red roll”. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation where he worked in the pump gang. Delbert loved nothing more than his family, food, and watching football, and listening to oldies music. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Colleen (Brozstek) Rushing; two children, Erin (Ronnie) Henry of Wellsburg, WV and Eric (Genesis) Rushing of Follansbee, WV; one brother, Randy Rushing of Florida; six grandchildren: Cole, Clay, Cain, and Lani Henry, Ember, and Onica Rushing; his mother-in-law, Kay Brozstek, sister-in-law, Sheila (Russ) Shaffer; and brother-in-law, Rod (Shirley) Brozstek. Visitation was held on Monday, August 21, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed in Frankin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
