Nelda L. Kins

NELDA L. KINS, 96, of Wellsburg, WV, died on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV under the care of the staff with the assistance of Valley Hospice. Nelda was born on February 2, 1927 in Hundred, WV. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Mattie (Hunt) Liming. Nelda was a longtime member of the Wellsburg Christian Church. She was a graduate of Wellsburg High School in 1944 and went on to graduate from Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1948. Nelda was a member of the Cadet Nurses Corp during World War II, a member of the Wheeling Hospital Alumni Association, American Association of Occupational Nurses and the Tri-State Valley Industrial Nurses. She enjoyed a long nursing career as a RN for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and Blaw Knox Corporation. In addition to her parents, Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Kins; two brothers, Jerry Liming and Richard “Dick” Liming; and a sister, Bertie Gaughenbaugh. Nelda is survived by her son, David Kins and his wife, Patricia of Wellsburg, WV; two grandsons, Ryan Kins and his wife, Crystal and Jeremy Kins and his wife, Emily, all of Pittsburgh, PA; a great granddaughter, Payton and a step great granddaughter, Chelsea; a sister, Bobbie J. Mercer of Wellsburg; a sister-in-law, Gaelene Liming of Follansbee, WV; and several beloved nieces and nephews, who were very dear to Nelda. Family and friends were received on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Pastor Ron Davis, officiating.
