EVA M. DABROWSKI, a beloved resident of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on October 4, 2023, reunited with the Lord. Born on April 7, 1949, in Kittanning, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Helen Peretta Barnes. Eva was reunited with her husband, Jim Shoemaker, her brothers Butch Barnes and Carl Barnes, and sisters Joyce Pander and Nancy McFall. Eva’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of hard work, dedication, and a profound love for animals. Her strong work ethic was well-known, and she left behind a legacy of perseverance that touched the lives of many. Beyond her commitment to her professional life, Eva found joy in the simple pleasures of crafting. For many in the community, Eva was a familiar face at Checkered Flag 1 in downtown Weirton, where she dedicated numerous years of service. The impact of her kindness will resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Eva is survived by her daughters, Kelly Contumelio, Peretta Crum, Jessica Shoemaker, all of Weirton, and her son, John Dabrowski (Tonya) of Bethesda, OH. Additionally, she leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with her brother Austin Barnes (Maureen) of Tampa, FL. Friends and family were invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Saturday, October 7, a2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Mike Lavell presiding, a time for reflecting and celebrating Eva’s life. Interment followed at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
