ARTHUR LEE APITZSCH, 80, of Wellsburg, WV passed Friday, October 20, 2023 at Brightwood Center. He was born May 19, 1943 in Weirton, son of the late Arthur Walter and Eva L. Summers Apitzsch. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee D. Lloyd Apitzsch (2021); and sister, Carol Jean Apitzsch Mick. Lee attended Edgewood High School. He retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He loved to fish at Piedmont Lake and was a huge Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR fan. Lee was known for his laughter, adventures, and tall tales. In his heyday, his spirits were high and he was a stranger to none. Lee is survived by his son, Aaron Apitzsch (Jodi) of St. Clairsville, OH; sister, Edie Kusko (George) of Weirton, WV; grandson, Blake Gretchen; many nieces and nephews; and his 3 beloved cats. A memorial visitation was held Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton.
