RUTH ELAINE FIBER, 93, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Wellsburg Healthcare Center in Beech Bottom, WV. Ruth was born on September 18, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Ryan) Davis. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale Wayne Fiber; a son, Harry R. Fiber; and one sister, Ima Jean Martin. Ruth graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1953 and went on to earn her Registered Nursing degree from the Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She worked many years as an RN at the Ohio Valley Hospital of Steubenville. Ruth was Christian by faith. Ruth is survived by four children: Vickie Galloway, Kevin (Shirley) Fiber, Rick (Merry) Fiber all of Beech Bottom, WV, and Mark Fiber of Iowa; a brother-in-law, Gene (Susie) Wilcox of Summersville, WV; eleven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 and again on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Larry Lemasters officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed at Franklin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Trinity School of Nursing, 4000 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, OH 43952.
