CHARLES A. (JOCK) BIRKHIMER, 67, of Wellsburg, WV passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2023 after a 25 day battle with terminal cancer. Jock was born December 15, 1955, to Roy and Martha Summers Birkhimer. Jock was a 1974 graduate of Brooke High School and retired from Arcelor Mittal in 2019 with 43 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and play his guitar. He was famous for his turkey calls. He was easy going, funny and would do anything for you. He loved our family vacations to the beach and fishing trips with his friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy and the man he looked up to, Harold DeGarmo. Left to cherish his memory is his caregiver and love of his life, Mary Ann DeGarmo of Wellsburg, WV; daughter, Brandi Birkhimer and Stacy and Jennifer Gallant; his mother-in-law, Anna DeGarm; two grandkids who loved their Jockey, Piper Huff and Fitzgerald Gallant; his brothers, Frank and Duff Birkhimer; his friends, aunts, uncles and cousins; and all who knew him. The family would like to thank Valley Hospice, who was so wonderful with both Jock and Mary Ann during these difficult days and to his support system. Visitation was held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 until the time of the service, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Father Justin Golna as Celebrant.
