Simply Christmas Event at BHP

Brooke County Fair and Brooke Hills Park will sponsor Simply Christmas at the Cardinal Shelter in the park Saturday, Dec. 2, from 12-4 p.m. Free admission to the event.
Simply Christmas is an event for everyone to join together in the holiday spirit.
The event will include a warm fire in the fireplace and surrounding areas outside with fire pits to enjoy.
Brunch with Santa is set for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. time slots.
Those intending to attend the brunch can call the park at 304.737.1236 for reservations. Space is limited. Payment is required for all kids and adults eating at time of reservation.
Free activities for kids will include ornament making, cookie decorating and a trip down Gingerbread Lane with treats. Those activities will be available while supplies last.
Photo opportunities with banners which will be hung will allow parents to snap a pic of their little ones, or they can take pictures with the Grinch, who will arrive at 1 p.m. at the Grinch hot cocoa bar.
Painted rocks will be hidden at the event, and the lucky finders can take the rocks to the Creations by Darla table and redeem them for prizes.
The winner of the Simply Christmas Ugly Sweater contest will be announced at 2 p.m. and will receive an Amazon gift card.
The Simply Christmas raffle is offering a variety of prizes including a snowman sign, inflatable Grinch, metal Joy sign, a lottery ticket tree, a Blow Mold Grinch, musical Grinch pathway lights, a lantern and a door hangar.
Tickets cost $1 each, six for $5 or 25 for $20 and can be ordered by calling Brooke Hills Park at 304.737.1236 or at the event.
The winner need not be present to win.
Organizers have been hanging personalized Angel Wing ornaments on a Christmas tree in memory of loved ones.
After the event, the tree will be moved to the porch at the clubhouse for everyone to view in the following weeks.
Henthorn Sugar Farms will be bringing its cute alpacas and will sell its honey.
Turn Around Quick Bites food truck will be at the park serving lunch and dinner.
Lick the Spoon will offer soup to eat in or to go by the pint or quart. It will have wedding soup, stuffed pepper soup and ham and bean soup as well as cornbread.
A give and take tree will allow people to donate winter wear, gloves, scarves and hats for those in need, who can take the items home to wear.
Visitors can also donate toys or food for those in need, which will be distributer through the Salvation Army.
Golf cart rides will be available, weather permitting.
Vendors will offer baked goods, gift items, decorations, crafts, jewelry, Fiestaware and more.
At 5:30 p.m., the Brooke Hills Park Light up Night will be staged at the Bald Eagle Shelter.
