Preliminary data collected from the electronic game checking system indicated that deer hunters in West Virginia harvested 45,155 antlered deer during the two-week firearm season Nov. 20-Dec. 3, according to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
The 2023 harvest was 7.5 percent below the 2022 harvest, which totaled 48,810 bucks.
