Wilda Elouise (Carroll) Goff Staats

WILDA ELOUISE (CARROLL) GOFF STAATS, 93, of Colliers, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Golden Oaks, Follansbee, WV. Elouise was born on April 20, 1930 in Beech Bottom, WV. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ida (Smith) Carroll. Elouise worked at JCPenny, Steubenville, OH as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Wellsburg, WV and the C.E.O. – Homemakers Clubs. Many will remember Elouise for her love of quilting and cooking especially her apple dumplings and noodles; but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elouise was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Lee Goff, second husband, Delmer Staats, a son, James Lee Goff and three siblings, Eugene and Lawrence Carroll and Merle Frey. Elouise is survived by her four children: Betty Straka and her husband, Gary of Colliers, WV, Bonnie Eltringham and her husband, William, of Colliers, WV, Ronald Goff and Thomas Goff and his wife, Terri of Wellsburg, WV; Ten grandchildren: Heather Collins and husband, Jeff, Kerry Jo Baker and husband, Heath, Keith Straka and wife, Miriam, Lee Eltringham and wife, Grace, Beau Eltringham, Brooks Goff, Ronald Goff, Thomas Goff, Amiee Pendleton and husband, Brandon and Jamie Goff; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Friday, December 15, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with David Dulaney Jr. officiating. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, C/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
