Kris Lee (Morgan) Kinney

KRIS LEE (MORGAN) KINNEY, 63, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Wellsburg Healthcare Center under the care of the staff with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Kris was born on January 29, 1960 in Weirton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Darrell Glen Morgan Sr. and Edith “Eddie” (Geary) Morgan. Kris was United Methodist by denomination of faith. She worked as the night shift LPN at both Brightwood Center and the former Valley Haven. Kris was a member of many nursing associations. Many will remember Kris for her love of the great outdoors and sports especially the WVU Mountaineers and the Brooke Bruins. Kris is survived by her long-time companion and husband, Rick Kinney of Weirton, WV; three children: Stephanie and Stacey Finnelli, both of Wellsburg, WV and Michael Gurrera of Follansbee, WV; two siblings: Bruce Morgan and his wife, Joyce of Follansbee and Darrell “Dude” Morgan Jr. and his wife, Jody of Aikens, SC; two nieces, Nicole Morgan and Marissa Coss and her husband, Lance; two nephews, Aaron Morgan and his wife, Lindsay and Bryan Morgan and his wife, Desire; and many friends. Family and friends were received on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 and again on Thursday, December 28, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee.
