Sally Ann (Hodge) Velegol

SALLY ANN (HODGE) VELEGOL, 85, of Colliers, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her residence under the care of her son with the assistance of Valley Hospice after a long battle with COPD. Sally was born on June 22, 1938 in Mansfield, OH. She was the daughter of the late Royd Hodge and Mary Louise (Herrod) Hodge. Many will remember Sally for her love of nature especially birds, crafts, crossword puzzles and going to the beach collecting shells to tole paint. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her son, Michael David Velegol, a brother, Dr. James Joseph Hodge and a brother-in-law, Harry McCarthy. Sally is survived by her husband, John Louis Velegol Jr.; a son,Tim Velegol; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hodge; her husband’s siblings, David Velegol, Sr. and wife, Carolyn, Patricia Ann McCarthy and Mary Elizabeth Wigginton and husband, Ed; and nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Monday, January 8, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee.
