ESTHER MAE ROCINI, 90, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at home with her family by her side. Esther was born on May 11, 1933, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Owen Dean and Arizona (Gillette) DeGarmo. In addition to her parents Esther is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfonso G. Rocini, Jr; one sister, Martha Virginia DeGarmo; one brother, Walter Dean DeGarmo; and a brother-in-law, Bob Andrews; and a cousin who was like a brother, Harold “Skip” DeGarmo. Esther graduated from Bethany High School. She worked for Hood’s Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech for 40 years + and was a motherly figure to the whole staff. She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and Alter Rosary Society. She was also a member of Brooke Lanes bowling league and was President of Theta Kai Alpha Sorority. Esther is survived by two daughters, Roxane (Kenneth) Rhodes, and Ruth Ann (Jeffery) Yost, Sr. both of Follansbee, WV; three grandsons, Justin (Jillian) Rhodes of Follansbee, WV, Jeffery (Jessica) Yost, Jr. of Wheeling, WV, and Joshua (Kayla) Yost of Pittsburgh, PA; four sisters: Helen (Gary) Boyer of TN and FL, Jackie Andrews of Durham, NC, Louise (Walt) Minter of Hollidaysburg, PA, and JoAnn (Charlie) Grimes of Mooresville, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, with a vigil service, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee and again on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9 a.m. until the Catholic Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with Father Jude Perera officiating, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee. Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee. Esthers family would like to thank the Brooke County EMT’s, Larry Rae, and Amedisys Hospice for all their love and care.
