Mary Ann Rosnick Elliott

MARY ANN ROSNICK ELLIOTT, 80, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, minutes after her loving family was by her side. She was born in Steubenville, OH, on June 10, 1943, the youngest of nine children born to George and Katherine Lonchar Rosnick. Mary Ann was a graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1961. On September 29, 1966, she married her high school classmate, Harold Duane Elliott, who had just returned from serving four years with the United States Marine Corps. Together, they were blessed with two children and three grandchildren. Throughout her career, Mary Ann worked as a receptionist. She began her professional journey with Bechtel Corporation and later became a medical receptionist with Dr. Gross. Mary Ann was a devoted member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, the Tri-State Marine Corps Club, and her Card Club. In her leisure time, Mary Ann found joy in shopping and cherished the moments spent vacationing in Myrtle Beach. However, her heart truly lit up when surrounded by family and friends at gatherings and parties. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Ronald L. Elliott, on August 20, 2017, and her siblings Rudy, Mike, George, and Paul “Sonny” Rosnick, Pauline Pyles, Margie Irvin, Dorothy Figlioli, and Rosemary Rosnick. She will be remembered with love by her husband, Harold D. Elliott; daughter, Holly Horn (Randy); and her grandchildren, Patrick Elliott, and Michael and Baylee Horn. Visitation was held on Monday, January 29, 204, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton, where services were held Tuesday, January 30, 2024, with Pastor Bill Stout presiding. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mary Ann’s family would like to thank the caring and loving staff of Weirton Geriatric Center, especially the nurses and aides of the third floor Enchanted Garden’s wing.
