Ronald “Ron” Brightwell

RONALD “RON” BRIGHTWELL, 67, of Waverly, WV, and formerly of Sistersville, WV, passed away Jan. 31, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born July 2, 1956, in Follansbee, son of the late Henry Brightwell Jr. and Alice Owens Brightwell. He retired as a mechanic from Momentive Performance Materials, formerly Union Carbide, near Sistersville. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and enjoyed hunting and playing basketball. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Brightwell of Waverly; daughter, Melissa Brightwell, of Pennsboro, WV; brother, Charles “Chuck” Brightwell; sisters, Rita Pratt and her husband Dave and Sandy Carroll; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Karen “Sue” Shuman, and nephew, Scott Pratt. Services were Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery with full military rites.
