YOLANDA J. (DELEONARDIS) GEARY, 98, of Rockville, MD passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Holy Cross Hospital, Germantown, MD. Born April 14, 1925, in Steubenville, OH she was a daughter of the late Cesare and Rosina Presutti DeLeonardis. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Yanjanin in 1957, and by her later husband, Russell E. Geary in 2011, her sister Anna Mary Troia, and a brother Tony DeLeonardis. Mrs. Geary retired from AT&T where she worked initially as a telephone operator, and later as a data center technician managing computer tapes. In all she spent over thirty years working for “MaBell.” Yolanda is survived by her son Charles R. Yanjanin (Donna) of Germantown, MD; two granddaughters, Nicole (David) Farhat of Potomac, MD, Victoria (Shawn) Mendonca of Vienna, VA; two great-grand daughters, and a great-grandson; two nephews, James (Elaine) and Larry DeLeonardis (Gayle) both of FL; three nieces Terri Ann Ferrara (Bob) and Cheryl DeLeonardis both of FL and Kathy Pecca of Atlanta, GA and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation was held Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton until the time of the Liturgy of the Word Service, with Fr. Binu Sebastian of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church presiding. Interment followed in St. Paul Cemetery.
