CANDACE ANN MCCANN, 72, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born on March 2, 1951, in Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Guy and Odessa (Mouse) Mace. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by infant twin siblings. Candace graduated from Wellsburg High School and earned her master’s degree in education from West Virgnia University. She retired from Wellsburg Primary School where she was a teacher and devoted 20 years to caring for and loving all children. Candace was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsburg. She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Robert H. McCann at home; one stepson, Justin (Jessica) McCann of Orlando, FL; three granddaughters, Gabrielle, and Caitlyn McCann and Sritha Sridhar; one brother, Everett Mace and one sister, Vickie Mace, both of Wellsburg, WV; and three special lifetime friends Linda Arbogast of Follansbee, WV, Nancy Hubbard and Nancy Conley both of Wellsburg. Visitation was held on Friday, March 1, 2024 and again on Saturday, March 2, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, with Rev. Mary Jane Knapp officiating. Interment followrf at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg. Candace’s family would like to thank the Visiting Angels for all their love and care.
