ELIZABETH J. RICE, 72, of Weirton, WV, passed Monday, March 11, 2024 at her home. She was born October 14, 1951 in Bluefield, WV, daughter of the late Carl and Viola White Baker. Elizabeth was a Weir High School graduate, Class of 1969. She went on to earn a degree in Psychology from Fairmont State University. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Weirton. Elizabeth worked for more than 20 years at Fabian Formals before moving on to respective tenures at Pittsburgh Technical Institute and Weirton Medical Center. Elizabeth loved to traveling; her most memorable trips were those she took to Richwood, WV, Carmel, CA and Rome, Italy. She also loved artwork by Thomas Kinkaide. More than anything, she loved to spoil her grandkids and great-grandson. Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughters, Marilyn Rice, Kimberly Stewart, and Jennifer Orovic (Kenneth); grandchildren, Anthony Hawkins, Benjamin Stewart, Aydin Underwood, Isaac Orovic and Viola Orovic; great-grandson, Mari Hawkins; and her parakeet, Chipper. Per Elizabeth’s wishes, there was no visitation. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton.
