LAURETTA LEE (COCCO) SOLTES, 83, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Weirton Geriatric Center. Lauretta was born on September 7, 1940 in Steubenville, OH. She was the daughter of the late Mario and Pauline (Davis) Cocco. Lauretta retired after 45 and half years as an English and History Teacher at Brooke High School. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and many will remember Lauretta for her love of reading and cooking. In addition to her parents, Lauretta was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Cocco. Lauretta is survived by her sister, Patricia Brezny and her husband, Francis; a daughter, Amy Harper and her husband, Gregory; three grandchildren, Sophia, Leah and Cole; and nieces and nephews and dear friends, Nancy Deters and Christina Bajelic. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, with Father Rev. Gerald Muoka presiding. Private family interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee. The James Funeral Home of Follansbee was honored and privileged to serve the family with assistance through this time of loss.
