The 4th Annual Match Madness promotion kicked off March 1. This partnership between the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley and Bordas and Bordas means that every dollar donated to the United Way in the month of March is matched up to $15,000. This year brings a fun new twist to the campaign. The first 125 donors in the month of March will be entered into the Match Madness bracket. Those donors will be entered into a drawing for four tickets to a Washington Wild Things game of the winner’s choice. The drawing will be held on April 1st.
“We had a significant number of new donors through Match Madness last year,” said Staci Stephen, Executive Director of United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley. “This promotion doubles your donation so you can make a greater impact in the community, and you have a chance to win a great prize. We are hoping to see the same success this year and we are so grateful to Mr. Bordas for his generous donation.”
Last year’s Match Madness partnership with Bordas & Bordas helped to make it the biggest Match Madness month to date, raising more than $50,000 for the annual campaign. This year’s campaign is themed “Raised Here. Stays Here.” because donations to the United Way stay local. The United Way funds over 30 programs that support community members in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler and Belmont Counites. Beyond that, the United Way is at the forefront of advocating for nonprofit organizations in the Ohio Valley, promoting giving and encouraging volunteerism.
“Bordas and Bordas is proud to partner with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley for the fourth annual Match Madness campaign,” managing partner of Bordas & Bordas, Jamie Bordas said. “Giving back to our community is very important, and we look forward to matching the donations that allow us to help give back to community members in need.”
