James B. Murphy, Jr.

JAMES B. MURPHY, JR., 79, of Paris, PA, passed Thursday, March 21, 2024 at home. He was born February 2, 1945 in Washington, PA, son of the late James B. Murphy, Sr. and Dolores Barkhurst Murphy. He is also preceded in death by his son, Richard Murphy. James was a US Army Veteran who served overseas from 1962 to 1965. James worked for Weirton Steel Corporation for 32 years as a truck driver before retiring in 1998. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 10 since 1999, and a life member of VFW Post No. 2716. James is survived by his loving wife, Sandra “Cookie” Hendershot Murphy; brother, Daniel C. Murphy (Mary Jo); sister, Sandra Carpenter (Mike Ovington); and several nieces and nephews.
