SILVERIO “SAM” COPPA, 86, of Wellsburg, WV passed away peacefully March 18, 2024, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born February 15, 1938, in Wheeling, WV to the late Frank and Bridget Mazzella Coppa. He worked for Wheeling Pitt. culvert plant, contract Driver for USPS, security guard with McKeen security and the former owner of Sam’s Cub in Beech Bottom. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, a member pf the Nutty Squirrel Club, loved playing Euchre at the Wellsburg Moose and the Elm Grove Eagles, and was a Navy Veteran during Peacetime. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Frank Coppa, a sister, Civita Souillard, and a granddaughter, Alexis Coppa. He is survived by his “Dear” wife, Doris “Tootie” Miller Coppa; two sons, Mike Coppa (fiancé Terresa Brown) and Tony Coppa (Joyce), all of Wheeling, WV; two daughters, Teresa (Bob) Glover of Wellsburg, WV and Melanie (Rick) Wood of Bethany, WV; nine grandchildren: Cody, Courtney, Kyle, Kaydie, Andrea, Victoria, Chase, Casey, and Caitlin; a great granddaughter, Bailey; and his loving buddy “Flash”. Sam also leaves behind his loving family, many loyal friends, and his faithful card players. Visitation was held on Friday, March 22, 2024 until the time of the service, with Pastor Larry Wallbrown officiating at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with full military grave side rites by the OVVMS.
