John Lawrence Dean

JOHN LAWRENCE DEAN, 72, of Colliers, WV, went on his final fishing trip on Friday, April 6, 2024 at Weirton Medical Center. John was born on August 28, 1951 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late Donald Dean and Mabel “Jeannie” (Freeman) Dean. John worked at Barkhurst Construction as an Ironworker through Local Union 527 serving the shop Steward. He was a member of Follansbee Church of the Nazarene. Many will remember John for his impact on the lives of youth through Follansbee Sports, enjoy shooting through target practice and traveling to see his kids; but most of all, you will always find John Fishing. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde. John is survived by his three children: John “JT” Dean and his wife, Misty of Lathrop, MO, James “Boa” Dean and his wife, Karen of Key Largo, FL and Christina Bricker and her husband, Robert of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren: Madison, Mandi Jo, James, Mary and Delani “DD”; two sisters, Pam and Kathy; and nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and again on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 until the time of the funeral service at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Reverend Larry Barkley, officiating.
