Phyllis Nicosia Novak

PHYLLIS NICOSIA NOVAK, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at UPMC Mercy. Born on August 18, 1945, in Steubenville, Phyllis was a graduate of Weir High Class of 1963, whose adventurous spirit and creative soul enriched the lives of all who knew her. Phyllis’s love for art and classical music was paralleled only by her skill as a pianist and painter. Her zest for life led her to cherish moments spent in California, Quebec, North Carolina, South Florida, and Hawaii. A loving wife to her husband, Ed Novak, and a devoted mother to her son, Martin (Lisa) Swaggard, Phyllis’s legacy of love extends through her late family members, including her mother Carmella Tamaggi, and sister Marsha Overholt. Remembered for her loving nature and kind heart, Phyllis’s memory will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones. Her adventurous spirit and the beauty she created will forever be treasured. Visitation was held Monday, April 8, 2024 until the time of services at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton.
